Derlin Eugene Branson, 62, of North Vernon passed away at 7:05 p.m. on Friday, July 15, 2016 at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 18, 2016 at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Services in North Vernon. Cremation will follow.

Born October 28, 1953 in Roane County, TN, Derlin was the son of the late Gene Branson and Leona Branson Mullins. He married Elaine Williams Branson in 2005.

Mr. Branson had been employed with Lees Ready Mix for 22 years. His hobbies included riding his horse Jasmine, hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He enjoyed listening to frogs in the evening with his wife as well as spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-nieces and nephews. 

Survivors include his wife, Elaine Branson of North Vernon, his mother, Leona Mullins of North Vernon, two sisters, Monica Lewis of Kingston, TN and Rita (Tim) Lowry of Commiskey, a half-sister, Millie Griffin, two half-brothers, Johnny and Gary Branson, a step-sister, Terri (Jeff) West, two step-brothers, Randy (Rhonda) and James Mullins, two daughters, Kellye (Michael) Martin and Cindy Flores of Rosenburg, TX, a step-daughter, Amy Glimpse, six grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, four nieces, one nephew and many great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Sterling Eugene Branson, stepfather, Bobby (Bill) Mullins, grandparents, Hershel and Eliza Jane Ramey and Ernest and Oma Branson, brothers, Terry and Ronnie Branson and a half-brother, Dennis Branson.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Columbus Regional Hospital Cancer Center and Grayford Road Community Church.
