Obituary

William Martin, 90, of North Vernon, passed away at 9:30 a.m., on Friday, June 16, 2023, at his home.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service. Burial will be held at a later date in the Bear Creek Cemetery.

Born on April 1, 1933, in Carroll County, Kentucky, William was the loving son of Anthony Thomas and Lula Mae (Adams) Martin. He was united in marriage to Cleda Justice on February 10, 1969. She preceded him in death.

William had worked for the Swing Factory in north Vernon and the Jennings Co. Coordinating Council. He liked watching Randal Scott and John Wayne movies and listening to gospel music on Sundays. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

William will be missed by his sons, William Ray Martin, Tony (Kathy) Martin of Versailles, and Randy (Pam) Martin of PA; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Lula Mae Martin; wife, Cleda Martin; two sisters; one brother.

Memorial donation can be made through the funeral home to the donor’s choice of organization.
