Travis A. Campbell, 47, of North Vernon, passed away at 1:46 P.M. on Friday, August 18, 2023, at St. Vincent – Jennings Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Rev. Jerry Byrd will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
A Rosary Service will be conducted at 3:30 P.M. on Monday, August 21, 2023, at Sawyer – Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
Born in Seymour on March 19, 1976, Travis was the son of Harold “Soup” and Joanne Ertel Campbell. He married Kristin McDonald on July 18, 1998.
Travis graduated from Jennings County High School in 1994. He went to Butler University where he graduated in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in political science. While at Butler, he joined the Sigma Nu Fraternity and played football for the Butler Bulldogs for the four years he was student there.
He began his career as the North Vernon Parks Director. He later became the Jennings County Economic Development Director. He was currently self-employed as an international business consultant. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed traveling, playing golf, and watching his children play sports. He was a great cook and was proud to have won the Campbell Family Soup contest multiple times.
He is survived by his wife, Kristin Campbell; mother, Joanne Campbell; daughters, Sydney (Zach) Stephan, and Norah Campbell; son, Cyrus Campbell; brother, Troy (Leslie) Campbell; sister, Jodi (Dan) Hill.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold “Soup” Campbell.
Memorials may be made in Travis’ memory to the Jennings County Panthers Football Program or the donor’s choice of charity.
