Robert Malcomb Branham, 83, of North Vernon, passed away with family at 5:33 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at St. Vincent Jennings Emergency Room in North Vernon.
He was born at home on May 6, 1939, son of Arthur Hugh Branham and Myra Faye (Malcomb) Branham. He married Catherine Marie Megel on September 12, 1970 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hayden.
Malcomb, as many knew him, was a graduate of Paris Crossing High School class of 1957. He was a member of St. Mary’s Parish in North Vernon, and worked as an electrician at Cummins for 33 years, retiring in 2002. He was a member of Star Promenaders Square Dance Club for twenty years and volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul for ten years.
In addition to his wife, Catherine, Malcomb is survived by son, Joe (Rhonda) Branham of Bloomington; daughter Teresa (Joe) Flaspohler of Greensburg; and Mark (Brandy) Branham of Greendale; grandchildren; Zachary, Kathleen, Jacob and Lucy Branham; Sam Flaspohler; Aiden O’Hara, Oliver and Otto Branham.
He is also survived by brothers Harlan, Larry Norman (Eydie), Danny (Julia), Dale, and Steve (Teresa) Branham, all of North Vernon; sister Marilyn (John) Caradonna of Commerce Township, Michigan; and multiple nieces, grand-nieces, nephews, and grand-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents as well as sister, Wilma (Mike) Hughes and sister, Catherine (Russ) Graves.
A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service. Rev. Jerry Byrd will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 and again from 9:00 a.m. until the start of the service on Thursday. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Hayden.
