Ralph E. Flinn

Ralph E. Flinn, 93, of Seymour, passed away at 8:17 a.m. on Tuesday, December 24, 2019, at Lutheran Community Home.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on December 30, 2019, at the Lutheran Community Home Chapel. Pastor Jeff Stuckwisch and Pastor Bradley Akey will officiate. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery. A gathering of friends and family will take place from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. on December 30, 2019, prior to the start of the service. Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service are handling the arrangements.

Born on December 27, 1925, in Ft. Ritner, Ralph was the son of the late Samuel and Mattie (Ollis) Flinn. He was united in marriage to Joan Burch. She preceded him in death on July 27, 2008.

Ralph was a 1943 graduate of Tunnelton High School. He was a sales rep for International Chemical. Ralph enjoyed walking, playing Euchre, horse races, IU basketball, and working in the yard. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Ralph is survived by sons, Michael (Jo) Flinn of Zionsville, Patrick (Linda) Flinn of Seymour, and Kevin (Lisa) Flinn of Wellington, FL.; daughter, Kathy Flinn (Jack Passarello) of Hilton Head Island, SC.; grandchildren, Christine, Alison, Craig, Meredith, and Kaitlin; great grandchildren, Zach, Mitchell, Greer, Sam, Drew, Max, Kathryn, Rebecca, Sarah, Gus, and Gwen; great-great grandchild, Owen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Mattie Flinn; wife, Joan Flinn.

Memorials can be made through the funeral home to Lutheran Community Home or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
