Mrs. Pauline Bowden, 85, of North Vernon, passed away at 2:01 p.m. on Monday, August 14, 2023, at the Hoosier Christian Village Facility in Brownstown.
There will be a graveside at 11:30 a.m., on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at the Dupont Cemetery. Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service are entrusted with the arrangements.
Pauline entered this life on December 18, 1937, in Perry County, Kentucky, she was the loving daughter of Fred and Alta (Watts) Dixon. She was a beloved mother of three daughters, Deborah, Sandra, and Nancy.
Pauline resided most her life in Dupont and North Vernon. She graduated Vernon High School in 1957 and was retired from Muscatatuck Developmental Center in Butlerville. She enjoyed playing cards, especially with her card club. She loved dancing and traveling with friends. Most of all, Pauline cherished spending time making memories with her family and friends.
Left to cherish Pauline’s memory are daughters, Sandra (Michael) Wagner of North Vernon, and Nancy (David) Horton San Tan Valley, Arizona; brothers, George Dixon of Mesa, Arizona, Coy (Pam) Dixon of Dupont, J.P. Dixon of Powell, Tennessee; sisters, Uldean Straub of Dupont, and Geraldine (Donald) Lyons of Westport; previous husband, Richard Bowden of Martinsville.
She was preceded in death by her father, Fred Dixon on December 4, 1971; mother, Alta Dixon on January 4, 1993; daughter, Deborah Bowden on September 19, 2009; brother, James Dixon on October 8, 2001; brother in law, Harry Straub on December 31, 2005; sister in law, Rosemary Losey on July 10, 2023, and Pauline Dixon.
