Millard Smith Obituary

Millard F. Smith, 66, North Vernon, passed away at 3:48 a.m. on Thursday, April 8, 2021, at St. Vincent Hospital on 86th Street in Indianapolis.

There will be a Celebration of Life held on Sunday, April 25, 2021, at 1:00 P.M. at the American Legion Park in Versailles. Cremation was chosen. Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service are entrusted with the arrangements.

Born on October 18, 1954, in Seymour, Millard was the loving son of Albert and Emma jean (Huntington) Smith. He was united in marriage to Marla Collins. She survives.

Millard spent 42 years as a self-employed over the road truck driver. He was a member of Eagles and the Moose Lodge both in Aurora. Millard enjoyed spending time with his family the most.

In addition to his wife, Marla Smith of North Vernon, he is survived by sons, Eric Smith of Kentucky, and Joseph Smith of North Vernon; daughters, Jessica Box of Madison, and Delaney Smith of North Vernon; sisters, Barbara (Dan) Campfield of North Vernon, Pamela Walston of Aberdine, Brenda Kay Mieir of North Vernon, and Elizabeth Hoard of North Vernon; grandchildren, Brant Smith, Lynze Smith, Jacob Kirby, Danielle Kirby, Jeremy Johnson, and Joseph Smith Jr.

Millard is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Emma Jean Smith; son, Austin Smith; sisters, Linda Smith, and Mary Ellen Bradley.
