Born on March 30, 1924, in Acton, she was the daughter of Otis and Mabel (Wright) Bartlett. She was united in marriage to Robert William Karibo on September 24, 1944. He preceded her in death in 1999.

After Marjorie graduated from Franklin Township High School, she began working at RCA in Indianapolis where she made headphones for pilots during WWII. It was at RCA where she met the love of her life, her husband, Robert. They together moved to North Vernon in the early 1970’s where Marjorie opened her own giftshop next door to her husband’s garage. After she closed her giftshop, she volunteered for 25 years for St. Vincent de Paul Society. She enjoyed dressing the dolls that were donated there to get them ready for sale. Besides dressing baby dolls, Marjorie’s favorite things were, Shirley Temple and the Lawrence Welk show. Her most important job of all was being a homemaker and raising her 5 daughters. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was a strong-willed lady all her life and one of her favorite sayings was “for crying out loud.”

Marjorie will be missed by daughters, Judy Faulkner of Danville, Sharon Sokol of Dallas, TX, and Shirley Loos of New Palestine; brother, Marvin Bartlett of Labanon; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Mabel Bartlett; husband, Robert Karibo; daughters, Patty Tallant, and Jenny Herr; brother, Charles “Bud” Bartlett.
