Marilyn A. Campbell, 77, of North Vernon, passed away at 11:37 p.m. on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at home.
A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at St. Ann Catholic Church. Rev. Joe Moriarty will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Ann Catholic Cemetery. Recitation of the Rosary and Visitation will be held from 3:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service. The family would like to invite everyone to wear IU clothing in remembrance of Marilyn.
Born on May 26, 1946, in Jennings County, Marilyn was the loving daughter of Otto and Kathleen (Wickens) Daeger. She was united in marriage to William Campbell on July 28, 1967. He survives.
Marilyn was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed watching IU Basketball, Volleyball, singing, and going to the casino. Most of all, Marilyn loved and cherished being surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to Marilyn’s husband, William “Bill” Campbell of North Vernon, survivors are son, Brad Campbell of North Vernon; daughter, Amy (Cory) Henderson of North Vernon; brothers, Phillip (Rosie) Daeger, Bill (Cindy) Daeger, and Tony (Joyce) Daeger all of North Vernon; sisters, Janet (Joe) Campbell of Scipio, Kathy (Matt) Hurley, JoAnn (Dale) Wernke, Linda (Frank) Kovacich, and Patty (Pat) Cardinal all of North Vernon; grandchildren, Emma and Laura Campbell, and Noah Henderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Kathleen Daeger.
Memorials can be made through the funeral home to the American Cancer Society or Our Hospice of Jennings County.
