Linda (Good) Miller was born on September 26, 1926 to two parents who are remembered for their authentic, devoted love for one another. This undoubtedly inspired Linda to say “yes” to a young Glenn “Flicker” Miller’s proposal of marriage. At 19-years-old, she met Flicker as he was returning to the U.S. after serving as a glider pilot in all four missions of World War II. He told his loved ones in North Vernon, Indiana that he was “bringing home a little flower from California.” This adventurous beginning to their married life together continued as they became business owners – Excel Cleaners and the Miller Plate Mill in North Vernon. When they were not serving customers at their shops, they were raising three children Suzanne (Miller) Funke, Glenn “Gib” Miller, and Jane (Miller) Harton. They fondly talk about their fourth child Daniel Miller who passed away in infancy. Linda and Flicker were married for 63 years before he passed away on February 10, 2008. In the years following the death of her beloved husband, Linda enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was always up for a competitive game of Rummy, Dominoes, or Rummikub. She relaxed by reading books, coloring, and watching sporting events. She was an incredibly gifted prayer warrior for her family and reminded all of us that God’s will is better than our own. Almost exactly 15 years after her husband preceded her in eternal life, she reunited with him on February 11, 2023 as she was surrounded by their 3 children. She was buried next to him on Valentine’s Day in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
