Larry W. Castetter

Larry W. Castetter, 84, of North Vernon, passed away at 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at his home.

There will be a memorial service at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at the Tea Creek Baptist Church. Rev. Philip Elliott will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service, at the church. Cremation was chosen. Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service is entrusted with the arrangements.

Born on March 28, 1939, in North Vernon, Larry was the son of Vernon and Marjorie (Weber) Castetter. He was united in marriage to Sharon Towne on May 29, 1992, in Deland, Florida. She survives.

Larry attended North Vernon High School and then went on to the Army Reserves. Once out of the Army Larry worked many jobs to provide for his family such as a heavy equipment operator, farmed, and also with the Indiana Forestry and Wildlife. He worked his way into the Industrial Management for many years. He retired in 2001 from Hukill Oil Co. Larry enjoyed hunting, hiking, and everything in the great outdoors, He liked country music and played steel guitar with local bands for over forty years.

  In addition to his wife, Sharon Castetter of North Vernon; survivors include, son, Doug (Amber) Castetter. daughters, Teri Lee and Sue Pridemore; stepsons, Adam (Chrishana) Towne, Craig (Sara) Towne, Quentin (Terri Cox) Towne; stepdaughter, Crystal (Jason) Teague; 2 grandchildren; one great grandchild, and 9 step grandchildren.     

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Marjorie Castetter; brother, Tom Castetter.

Memorials can be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of Jennings County.
