Juanita Stevens, 64, of North Vernon, passed away at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at home.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service. Jason Howard will officiate. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service.
Born on November 3, 1957, in Hazard, Kentucky, Juanita was the loving daughter of Clarence and Delphie (White) Howard.
Juanita enjoyed going to the casino, dancing, playing bingo, traveling, having cookouts, being outdoors, skating, bowling, going to concerts and drive in theaters, driving, and shopping. Most important to Juanita was her family. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed all her time with them. She also loved her dog Puggsley aka "Pig".
Juanita is survived by mother, Delphie Howard of North Vernon; son, James (Lisa) Stevens of Danville; daughters, Delphia (Aaron) Davis of Indianapolis, and Ashley (Chris) Spall of Greenwood; brothers, Elbert Howard of Butlerville, Lloyd Howard of North Vernon, and Jeffrey Howard of North Vernon; grandchildren, Kameron and Kaleb Stevens, Alana and Tristan Leggins, Chase Davis, Maquila, Aiden, and Taylor Wright, Jayden Ackenback, Raylynn Spall, and Jerry Jones.
She is preceded in death by her father, Clarence Howard; daughter, Rosemary Stevens; brothers, Clarence and David Howard.
Memorial can be made through the funeral home to one of the following Riley Children’s Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, or the American Cancer Society.
