John Michael Trapp

John Michael Trapp, 78, of North Vernon, passed away at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, April 22, 2022, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus. Survivors include wife, Charlotte Trapp, of North Vernon.

A memorial service with military honors provided by V.F.W. Post 2021 and the United States Marine Corp. will be conducted at Sawyer – Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at 1:00 PM. Rev. Philip Elliott will officiate. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Born on December 15, 1943, in Seymour, John was the loving son of Raymond and Ruby (Thompson) Trapp. He was united in marriage to Charlotte Strickland on August 26, 1967. She survives.

After graduating from North Vernon High School high School, John proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. He retired from Cummins Inc. John was a member of Tea Creek Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge 219. He enjoyed painting, woodworking, and watching sports. He especially liked watching his grandsons race motorcycles.  

In addition to his wife, Charlotte Trapp of North Vernon, survivors include daughters, Ann Brison of Columbus, and Julie (Rod) Feltner of North Vernon; brother, David (Jane) Trapp of North Vernon; grandchildren, Langdon and Louden Feltner, and Taylor Brison; great grandchild, Ava Napier.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Ruby Trapp; brother, Paul Trapp; stepmother, Ione Trapp.

 Memorials can be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of Jennings County or Rescue 20.
