Helen L. Hardesty, 100, of Seymour, passed away at 10:08 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2020, at the Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour.
All services are private with a celebration of life at a later date. Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service were entrusted with the arrangements.
Born on August 21, 1919, in Fargo, ND, Helen was the daughter of Charles and Stella (Kindred) Trowbridge. She was united in marriage to William Hardesty on August 17, 1938. He preceded her in death on August 16, 2000.
Helen graduated Dupont High School in 1938. She worked for 22 years as a cook at North Vernon High School and managed the Dollar General Store for three years. Helen was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Helen is survived by daughter, Patty (Duane) Graham of North Vernon; grandchildren, Debbie (Rusty) Sharp of North Vernon, Dana (John) Perkins of Lebanon, OH, Karen Lamb of North Vernon, Kelly Hardesty of Shelbyville, Kathy Hardesty of North Vernon, and Wilbur Hardesty of North Vernon; Several great and great – great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Stella Trowbridge; husband, William “Bill” Hardesty; son, Charles “Bill” Hardesty; brothers, Glen Trowbridge, and Jewel Trowbridge.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Susan G. Komen for the cure of Breast Cancer.
