Harold "Mo" Callahan

Harold “Mo” Callahan, 86, of North Vernon, passed away at 10:13 a.m. on Monday, January 16, 2023, at Majestic Care of North Vernon.

A graveside service with Military Rites will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 20, 2023, at the Vernon Cemetery. Raymond Roberts will officiate. Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service are entrusted with the arrangements.

Born on May 22, 1936, in Slemp, KY, Mo was the loving son of Culty and Elizabeth (Polley) Callahan. He was united in marriage to Sarah Jane Miller on February 14, 1959. She preceded him in death on January 9, 2001.

After graduating high school in Paris Crossing in 1955, Mo went on to serve his country proudly in the US Army from 1958 to 1962. He retired from a career with Cummins INC. Mo enjoyed watching UK basketball and was avid golfer.

Mo is survived by his daughters, Andrea D. Callahan of Columbus, OH, Candy Myrick of North Vernon, and Dena Ann Sudhop of Venice, FL; brother, Lloyd Callahan of Kentucky; grandchildren, Misty Myrick, and Sarah Sudhop; great grandchild, Addie Mae Myrick.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Culty and Elizabeth Callahan; wife, Sarah Callahan; brothers, Jack, and Bill Callahan; sisters, Goldie Kennedy, and Marjorie Roberts.

Memorials can be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of Jennings County.
