Gerald C Kenny 79 of Columbus, IN lived life to its fullest until 3:30 pm May 19th 2022 at home surrounded by his loved ones
Born December 28th 1942 to James and Helen Kenny in Flint Michigan.
Gerald was a 1960 graduate of St. Mary's Catholic School in Mt. Morris, MI.
A proud veteran of the United States Air Force serving from 1960-1963.
Gerald married the love of his life Rosemary Ann Duquette on February 5th 1966.
Together they had four daughters, Christine K Kenny of Nashville, Michelle M Rutan of Nashville,
Katheryn L Kenny and Julie A Edwards of Columbus
He was blessed with one grandson his namesake Gerald N Edwards
Gerald was a lifelong foundryman. Starting his career at General Motors in 1964 as a foreman in Flint MI,
Moving to Warsaw IN 1977 working at Dalton Foundry as Melting Superintendent and moving to Columbus, IN .1984 retiring from Golden Foundry Melting and Molding Manager in 2005
An avid sports fan football, basketball, racing the list goes on. If he was not on the golf course, he was watching a game or match on tv. He also was an avid hunter not missing many seasons Up North with the crew at Kamp Kenny. Spending time with family and friends he was at his happiest
He was known by many names, JK, High Pockets and as of late the One-Legged Ass Kicker. Our favorites were husband, Dad, Gramps, Brother,
Uncle and friend
Gerald was a member of Eagles Lodge #741, Moose Lodge #398,
American Legion Post 24 and VFW Post 1925.
Survivors include his wife Rosemary, daughters Christine Kenny, Michelle Rutan and Julie Edwards.
Grandson Gerald Edwards, his siblings all Michiganders Joseph (Judy) Kenny, Robert (Diane) Kenny,
Louise Kenny, Kathryn Kujacznski and John (Linda) Kenny Many Nieces and Nephews which he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Kathryn Kenny, his parents James and Helen Kenny,
Brother Thomas Kenny, Sister Lois Hughes, brother in laws Ronald Hughes and Dale Kujacznski
Please join us for a celebration of Jerry's life on June 11th 2022 at the Eagles Lodge #741 from 4-7pm in Columbus, IN. Inurnment will be in the Saint Mary’s Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Mt Morris, MI at a later date. Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service were entrusted with his arrangements.
