Elizabeth Coyle Obituary

Elizabeth Coyle, 92, of North Vernon, passed away at 6:52 a.m. on Thursday, December 17, 2020, at home.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2020, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service. Rev. Ricky Persons will be officiating. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. till the time of the service on Saturday, December 19, 2020.

Born on September 20, 1928, in Jennings County, Elizabeth was the loving daughter of Ernest Leroy and Eva L. (Cox) Stewart. She was united in marriage to Wade Coyle in the Military Chapel in Bartholomew County. He preceded her in death in March 2004.

Elizabeth also known as Betty to all who loved her, was strong in her faith and loved her Heavenly Father. Betty had worked at Camp Atterbury as a Clerk before becoming a Homemaker. She enjoyed listening to gospel music and watching gospel programs. Betty also took great pleasure in playing her Hammond Organ, knitting/crocheting, working puzzle books, and watching birds. Most of all Betty loved her family deeply and all the little ones.

Betty is survived by sister, Nancy Sims (Bill) of North Vernon; nieces, Sherry (Paul) Eaton of North Vernon, and Carol (Rusty) Jenkins of North Vernon; nephews, Mark (Annette) Sims, Timothy (Dawn) Sinkes, and James Sims all of North Vernon;; grandchildren, Peace (Amy) Coyle of Washington, and Victor (Oye) Coyle of Alabama; great grandchildren, Payton and Cameron Coyle; great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Eva Stewart; husband, Wade Coyle; daughter, Nilawon Coyle.

Memorials can be made through the funeral home to the Jennings County Coordinating Council.
