Eileen F. Helm, 64, of Scipio passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021, at home surrounded by her loved ones.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 26, 2021, at Sawyer – Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service. A private memorial service will be conducted the following day. Born July 29, 1956, in Seymour, Eileen was the loving daughter of Dudley and Minnie (Simpson) Childs. She was united in marriage to John W. Helm on January 8, 1983. He preceded her in death on December 5, 2020.
Eileen graduated from the Indiana Business College with an associate degree. She worked at Cummins for the past 9 years, serving as an Administrative Assistant. She was very involved in Community Service both in North Vernon and Columbus. She proudly helped with the Jail Ministry. She was a member of Brown’s Corner Chapel where she served on various board. She was also a member of the Moose Lodge, Eastern Star. Above all, Eileen cherished spending time and making memories with her family.
She is survived by her sons, Jonathan (Amanda) Helm of Zionsville, Jeremy (Ashley) Helm of Indianapolis, and Brandon (Carrie)) Helm of North Vernon; daughter, Heather (Bob) Hanson of North Fort Meyers, FL; sisters, Pam Carpenter of Kentucky, Eloise Carlisle of New Albany, and Merna Whittington of Columbus; grandchildren, Hailey, Breana, Kjia, Payton, Brooks, and Harper; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dudley and Minnie Childs; husband, John W. Helm.
