Douglas Robbins, 61, of North Vernon, passed away at 11:31 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2020, at the Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.
A Graveside service will be conducted at 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2020, at Vernon Cemetery. Rev. Rod Raines will officiate. Visitation will be held prior to the graveside from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2020, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service. We would like to remind the public of the CDC guidelines to please limit the number of people in the funeral home to only 10 people at a time and to be mindful of the 6 ft. social distancing.
Born on March 16, 1959, in Columbus, Doug was the son of Arnold and Barbara (Thorpe) Robbins. His mother survives.
Doug worked for the City of North Vernon on the City Street Department for many years. He was a member of the First Apostolic Church. In his spare time, Douglas enjoyed riding in the country, exploring with his nieces and nephews, and collecting walking sticks and John Deere items.
In addition to his mother, Barbara (Frank) Philpot of North Vernon, survivors include daughter, Tonya Meza Robbins of North Vernon; sister, Pam (David) Pratt of North Vernon; brother, Marty (Cheryl) Robbins of North Vernon; niece, Rebekah Phillippe; nephew, Jason (Sarah) Pratt; great nieces, Cadence and Ashlyn Pratt, Addison Phillippe; great nephews, Branson and Bentley Phillippe.
Doug was preceded in death by his father, Arnold Robbins.
