Obituary

Douglas E. Holman, 61, of Scottsburg, passed away at 12:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at home.

There will be a graveside service with a Masonic service at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 15, 2023, at the Vernon Cemetery. Rev. Bruce Stephenson and Rev. Roger Carr will officiate. Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service are entrusted with the arrangements.

Born on September 26, 1961, in Seymour, Doug was the loving son of Elmer and Vivian (Bevers) Holman. They survive.

Doug retired from Cummins Inc. He was a member of Mt. Eden Christian Church, Masonic Lodge in Scottsburgh #572, and Coffee Creek Conservation Club. Doug loved trap shooting and enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his father, Elmer Holman of Scottsburg; mother, Vivian Holman of Canton, OH; stepmother, Olive Holman of Scottsburg; sister, Pamela (Roger) Ritzline of Canton, OH; stepsister, Dianna (Dave) Conner of Scottsburg.

Doug was preceded in death by his companion, Jill Greathouse on October 17, 2021.

Memorials can be made through the funeral home to Gentiva Hospice or Mt. Eden Christian Church.
