Donnie E. Angel, 49, of North Vernon, passed away at 11:11 a.m. on Sunday, August 5, 2018, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
A funeral service celebrating Donnie’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2018, at Jennings County High School in the Charles W. Hurley Gymnasium. Rev. Mark Sorrels will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 10th at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service.
Born August 13, 1968, in Columbus, Donnie was the son of Tommy and Linda (Marksberry) Angel, Sr. He enjoyed listening to the radio and all Jennings County Panther sporting teams. Donnie attended, wrote statistics, and cheered at every sporting event for the past 37 years. He was known for his chants during sporting events, such as, “GO PANTHERS GO” and “GO JC.”
Donnie is survived by his parents, Tommy and Linda Angel, Sr. of North Vernon and brother, Tommy Angel, Jr. of North Vernon.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Angel.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Jennings County Community Foundation. Any donations exceeding funeral expenses will go to creating a Donnie Angel Scholarship through the Jennings County Community Foundation.
