Darrell Andrew Nelson

Darrell Andrew Nelson, 23, of North Vernon, passed away at 3:55 a.m., on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, in Jennings County.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service. Rev. Dale Boyd will officiate. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 29, 2023 and again from 12:00 p.m. until the start of the service on Saturday.

Born on November 5, 1999, in Columbus, Darrell was the loving son of Mike and Robin (Boyd) Nelson. They survive.

Darrell graduated in 2018 from Jennings County High School. He worked with his dad on the farm. He enjoyed hanging out with the boys, fishing, martial arts, and shooting guns. Darrell loved spending time with his family, he especially cherished all the time he spent with his grandma.

In addition to his parents, Mike and Robin Nelson of North Vernon, survivors include brother, Derek (Emily) Nelson of North Vernon; niece, Avilynn Nelson; nephew, Tinsley Nelson; grandfather, Ron Boyd of Murray, Kentucky; grandmother, Patti Nelson of North Vernon.

Darrell was preceded in death by his grandmother, Rosalie Boyd; and grandfather, Darrell Nelson.
