Obituary
Ada Mae Gividen , 91, of Scipio passed away on July 8th, 2023 at Willow Crossing Health and Rehabilitation Center in Columbus, Indiana.
Ada was born June 29, 1932 in Brownsburg to Roy Glen and Ester Dean Miller. She married Maurice Gividen on October 26,1950. He preceded her in death three months shy of their 60th anniversary.
Maurice and Ada had one son, Leroy Gividen, one granddaughter, Leanne (Gividen) Peeples, a son-in-law John Peeples, two great grandchildren, Jacob and Reece Peeples. While not a large family there was a lot of love for each other.
Ada lived in Jennings County for 70 years, most of which was on the farm at Scipio. Along with being a homemaker, Ada had a long working career which included Big Red bottling in Seymour and JCPenney in Columbus. She retired as a State of Indiana employee working at Butlerville for many years.
Ada was a member of Bear Creek and Sardinia Baptist churches as well as the Eastern Star. Ada was true to her family and God.
Ada was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Charles Miller, a sister, Vorice Fischvogt, and her husband, Maurice.
Ada's wishes were for a closed casket with no visitation. The immediate family will be holding a private graveside service. She will be buried next to Maurice at Bear Creek. Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service are entrusted with the arrangements.
