Winifred Faye Hensley

Faye Hensley, 84, of Columbus, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Silver Oaks Health Campus in Columbus.

Born May 27, 1931, in Rushville, Faye was the daughter of the late Dorsey and Violet (McKee) Trapp. On July 15, 1950, she married Henry "Bud" Hensley, and he preceded her in death on March 30, 2009.

Faye retired from Cummins, Inc. She was a member of Old Union Church of Christ in Edinburgh, where she served as a Ladies Aide.

Survivors include son, Terry Hensley of Columbus; daughter, Rhonda (Jim) Bennett of Columbus; sister, Donna Hill of Columbus; six grandchildren, Jansen, Kylah and Tessa Hensley, Cristin Henderson, Brittney Goodwin and Jamie Bennett; and five great grandchildren, Coleson and Blayne Reynolds, Addison and Kennedy Swartz, and Layney Henderson.

In addition to her parents and husband, Faye is preceded in death by a son, Dale Hensley; sisters, Doris Earl and Mary Hays; and brother, Robert Dale Trapp.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2015, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service, with the Rev. J. Kirby Rupp officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery at a later date.
