Wilma Jean Miller, 85, of North Vernon, passed away at 8:56 p.m. on Sunday, December 27, 2015, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.
Born September 19, 1930, in Grammer, Indiana, Jean was the daughter of the late Raymond and Lucille (Shinolt) Alexander. She graduated from North Vernon High School in 1948, and on May 7, 1949, she married Richard L. Miller. He survives.
Jean worked as a teller for 13 years at First National Bank. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband, Richard, Jean is survived by three daughters, Janet (Don) Henry of Scipio, Linda (Jon) Passmore of Cape Elizabeth, Maine, and Judy (Bob) Watts of North Vernon; a son, Richard (Sue) Miller of Greenville, Tennessee; a brother, Robert E. (Karen) Alexander; sister-in-law, Shirley Alexander; 13 grandchildren, Chris Henry, Matt Henry, Ali (Chris) LaFlamme, Clint Wilhoit, Wendy (John) Baker, Victoria Passmore, Anthony Passmore, Shanan (Jason) Orrock, Sharon (Patrick) Norris, Jake Miller, Megan Traylor, Travis (Ana) Watts, and Justin (Lisha) Watts; and 18 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Lucille Alexander, and brother, Warren Alexander.
Funeral Information
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2015, at First United Methodist Church in North Vernon. Rev. Marvin Sweet and Rev. Joe Wyatt will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to First United Methodist Church Building Fund or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
