Wilma Faye King

October 20, 1929 - September 21, 2013

Wilma Faye King, 83, of North Vernon, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2013, at Lutheran Community Home in Seymour.

Born October 20, 1929, in Jennings County, Faye was the daughter of the late Hubert and Ruth Frazier Short.

Faye retired from Cummins, Inc., in 1985. Prior to working at Cummins, she had been employed at Regal Rugs, and following retirement worked at Muscatatuck State Developmental Center. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing bingo.

Survivors include three sons, Paul King of Seymour, Frank King of Estes Park, CO, and Dorsey King of North Vernon; two daughters, Debby Pearcy of Bloomington and Kathy Henry of Scipio; sister, Thelma Hughes of North Vernon; two brothers, Larry Short of Commiskey and Danny Short of Seymour; grandchildren, Toby Pearcy, Brandi Terrell, Tammy Anthony, Aaron Henry, Cassie Jo Norton, Brentt, Nathan, Dorsey Jr., and Reagan King; and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Shirley Elaine Short, Donna Goldschmidt and Roberta Pettigrew; and brothers, Donald "Sonny" and William Short.

Funeral Information

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2013, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service in North Vernon, with the Rev. Paul Neuman officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
