Mr. William Wayne Rogers

William Wayne Rogers, 85, of North Vernon, passed away at 12:45 am on August 5, 2011, at Jennings Health Care Center in North Vernon.

Born August 25, 1925 in Vernon, William was the son of Homer D. and Josie Redman Rogers. He married Helen Mae Ertel. She survives.

Mr. Rogers was enlisted in the United States Army from 1943 until 1945, serving in World War II. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and gardening.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Rogers is survived by one daughter, Karen Geswein of North Vernon; two sons, Donald W. Rogers of Seymour and Keith A. Rogers of North Vernon; four granddaughters, Angela Miller, Bree Geswein, Christian Rogers and Madison Rogers; three grandsons, Andrew Rogers of Seymour, Joshua and Jude Geswein of North Vernon; and one great grandson, Logan Geswein.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be conducted Monday, August 8, 2011 at 11:00a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in North Vernon. The Rev. Jonathan Meyer will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery.
