Mr. William Hershel Pickett

January 26, 1926 - September 03, 2009

William Hershel Pickett, 83, of North Vernon, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2009 at 12:30 PM at West Lake Regional Hospital in Columbia, Kentucky.

Born January 26, 1926 in Adair County, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Felix and Vivian Pickett. He later married Christine Acree. She preceded him in death.

Mr. Pickett enjoyed working in his yard and making things out of gum wrappers.

He is survived by his son, Roger Pickett of Edmonton, Ky; Two brothers: Lawrence Pickett and T.J. Pickett of Louisville, Ky; Two sisters Elsie Stone and Wilma Williams of Louisville, Ky, and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and his son, Michael Pickett.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Home with Rev. Don Morris officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, September 7, 2009 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Interment will be at Scipio Cemetery.
