William Philpot, 74, of North Vernon, passed away at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, 2016, at his residence.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2017, at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. The Rev. John Willis will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery.

Born June 2, 1942, in Bulan, KY, William was the son of the late Jessie and Molly (Binge) Philpot.

William had been employed as a wood worker, and he enjoyed drawing, playing piano and reading.

Survivors include a son, Jessie Philpot; a daughter, Vanessa Philpot; and two brothers, Frank Philpot of North Vernon and Jessie James Philpot of Knox, IN; and nephew, Wallace Philpot of North Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Juanita; two brothers, Clyde, Robert and Jack Philpot; and sister, Vanalier Daugherty.
