William L. Schwacke, Jr., 74, of North Vernon, passed away at 7:03 a.m. on February 22, 2018, at Premier Health Care.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church.  Rev. Jerry Byrd will officiate.  Visitation will take place on Saturday, February 24, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service.

Born December 24, 1943, in North Vernon, Bill was the son of the late William L. and Verna (Drury) Schwacke, Sr.

Bill had worked at Just-Rite Supermarket and IGA.  He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Eagles of North Vernon.  He enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, horses and playing cards.

He is survived by a daughter, Debbie (Bill) Davis of Columbus; three sons, Mike and Mark Schwacke of Florida and Matt (Kelly) Schwacke of North Vernon; two sisters, Sr. Joan Schwacke of Oldenburg and Barb Schwacke of Indianapolis; six grandchildren, Adaire (Scott) Taylor, Jarod, Natasha and Levi Schwacke, Billy (Chelsey) and Kristin Davis; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Verna Schwacke, Sr.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Alzheimer's Association.
