William J. Collett 73, of North Vernon passed away at 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at his residence.

Born on January 18, 1936 in Salyersville, KY., he was the son of the late James Herman and Maggie Strickland Collett. He later married Lillian Russ.

He enjoyed mowing and caring for his yard.

Mr. Collett is survived by his son, James Collett and daughter, Geneva Graham both of North Vernon, a brother, LaRue Collett of Washington, IN., 5 grandchildren, 9 great- grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Connie Smith, brother, Billy Strickland and two sisters, Reva Collett Caudill and Geneva Coleman and grandson, Danny Collett.

Funeral Information

A graveside service will be held at Petersburg Cemetery in Petersburg, KY. on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements are in care of Sawyer~Pickett Funeral Home.
