Mr. Walter M. Low

October 14, 1933 - March 28, 2015

Walter M. Low, 81 of North Vernon died at 2:09 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Aspen Place Health Campus in Greensburg, IN.

Mr. Low was a lifelong farmer. He attended First Baptist Church of North Vernon.

He was born on October 14, 1933, the son of Chester and Ruth Louisa (Ponsler) Low. He graduated from North Vernon High School in 1951. Mr. Low married Rosanna Mae Day in 1953. She preceded him in death in 1997. He later married Bonnie Ramey in 1998 who also preceded him in death in 2010.

Survivors include sons, Steven (Nancy) Low of Columbus and Thomas (Sharon) Low of North Vernon; sisters, Vera Gosman of Texas, Virginia Zeher and Alice Jones of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Will, Grant (Andrea), Trent (Samantha), Cody (Jenny) and Chastity Low; great-grandchildren, Athen Schoffstoll, Ari, Emira, Gavin, Hayden and Easton Low, Ryder Burgmeier and Makynna Chaplin and a special friend, Frances Huff of North Vernon.

Mr. Low was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Rosanna and his second wife, Bonnie.

Funeral Information

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Home in North Vernon. Rev. Connie Barr will officiate. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service on Saturday. Burial will follow at Vernon Cemetary.

Memorials may be given to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, Zenas Baptist Church, First Baptist Church or New Bethel United Methodist Church.
