Von Branson, 76, of Holton, passed away at 8:50 a.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025, at the Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, KY.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service. Rev. Frank McGee will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the start of the service.

Born on May 10, 1948, in Perry County, Kentucky, Von was the loving son of the late Kenneth and Jannie (Pratt) Branson. He was united in marriage to his companion and wife, Shirley on October 25, 2013. They spent 45 years together. She survives.

Von graduated in 1968 from South Ripley County High School. During his time spent in Florida, he worked for several years at Ocala Lumber. He retired from Hylex in 2010. Von enjoyed playing Bass in a bluegrass, feeding and watching birds, and loved his cat Squeaker.

In addition to his wife, Shirley Branson of Holton, survivors include step daughter, Lisa (Andrew) Walker of Scottsburg; step son, Christopher (Ciera Kerker) Carmer of Versailles; brother, Roy Branson of Holton; grandson, Scott (Kaylah) Bowman of North Vernon; great grandchildren, Annalyn Bowman, and Brody Bowman both of North Vernon; niece, Jannie (Matt) Jackson, and Connor Jackson; several aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Jannie Branson.

Memorials can be made through the funeral home to the American Diabetes Association.
