Obituary

Virginia Helen Clendenning, 101, of Bloomington passed away on Friday, May 27, 2016 at Meadowood Health Pavilion in Bloomington.

Memorial service:   Thursday, June 30, 11 am, Unitarian Universalist Church at 2102 North Fee Lane, Bloomington, Rev. Mary Ann Macklin and Rev. Douglas Wadkins officiating.  Interment service to follow at 3 pm at Vernon, Indiana cemetery.

Born December 19, 1914 in Indianapolis, Virginia was the daughter of Carl and Ora Clark Chaille. She married Ernest Lee Clendenning in 1945. He preceded her in death in December of 2002.

Virginia graduated from Indiana Central College with a Bachelor's degree in home economics. She worked at Indiana Central College as assistant registrar. She was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Bloomington and a former member of the Unitarian Church in Buffalo, NY. She was an avid reader and liked to watch and listen to Public Broadcasting Stations. She enjoyed her years and friends while living at Redbud Retirement Home and Meadowood Health Pavilion.

She is survived by daughters, Lynda (Robert Fuller) Clendenning of Bloomington, and Deborah Clendenning of Denver, CO; son, Stephen (Arlene) Clendenning of Bethlehem, PA; sisters, Lucille Cummings of Terre Haute and Marcella Moore of Kirkwood, MO., and numerous nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Maurice Chaille; sister, Ruth Ellen Johnson.

Memorials may be made to the Unitarian Universalist Church of Bloomington, WTIU Television or WFIU Radio through the funeral home.
