Vera Wilcox of North Vernon was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She passed away at home on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at the age of 62.

Vera was born on December 16, 1963, in Salyersville, KY, the daughter of Jesse Lee and Carla Sue Collinsworth Adams.

Vera dedicated her life to making people feel beautiful. She worked for several years doing hair in a beauty shop. After that she worked at Firsich's Meat Market making friends and meeting customers. Her true joy came from her family. She was very proud of her son Joe, and her grandsons, Chase and Zachary. She could often be found visiting with family or friends on her front porch enjoying a good cup of coffee. She also spent many hours watching Lifetime movies.

She is survived by her son, Joe Reason and daughter-in-law Brooke of North Vernon; her grandchildren, Chase (Olivia) Reason, and Zachary Reason; her great-granddaughter, Tinley Reason; and her dear sisters, Barbara Adams Collett and Cassie Adams. Vera was not just a wonderful family member; she was known for her kind heart, always willing to help someone in need. Her beloved dog, Fiona, was always by her side, adding to the joy that filled her life.

A funeral service to celebrate Vera's life will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service, with visitation prior from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Rev. Eli Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow at Vernon Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in Vera's memory to Anew Hospice through the Funeral Home.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Carla Adams; sisters,Georgianna Adams, Carrolynn Adams, and Charolette King.
