Timothy Earl Anderson, 61 of North Vernon passed away at his home on September 30th, 2023.
A funeral service will be conducted at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service on Friday, October 6th at 1 P.M. Brother Ricky Persons will officiate. Burial will be at the Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 5th from 4-8 P.M. and Friday, October 6th from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M.
He was born in Seymour on December 18th, 1961. He was the son of the late Charles & Elise Anderson. He grew up in Commiskey and graduated from Jennings County High School in 1981. On September 9th, 1988, he married Janet Corder. She preceded him in death on October 24th, 2013.
Over the years, Tim worked at Muscatatuck State Developmental Center, sold real estate for Century 21, worked in the Area Plan office, and retired from Madison State Hospital, where he worked as a psychiatric attendant.
Tim was a family man. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. It was rare to see him without at least one of them. He regularly spent time with his brothers. Often, they would meet for lunch. Tim also liked fishing and hunting, particularly for mushrooms. He enjoyed watching sports including the Cincinnati Reds, IU Basketball, NASCAR racing, and the Indianapolis Colts. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in North Vernon and enjoyed going to the monthly men's breakfast.
Surviving family includes daughters Lindsay (Grant) Gibson and Megan (Shawn) Duff both of North Vernon, grandchildren Liam, Rose, & Joe Duff, and Gretchen Gibson; Brothers Terry Joe (Jan) Anderson of Lexington, IN, Allen (Marty) Anderson of Columbus, and George (Rita) Anderson of Osgood; Sisters Genalee Downs of North Vernon, Elizabeth (Terry) Foga of New Castle, Kathy (Jessie) Bowman of Crothersville, and Juanita (Larry) Alexander of Greenwood.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, wife Janet Anderson, and brothers Mike & Ernest Anderson.
Memorial donations can be made through the funeral home to an organization of the donor's choosing.
