Tamara “Tammy” Diane Bohannan, 66, of North Vernon, passed away on April 10, 2026. She was born on May 25, 1959, in Seymour, Indiana, to Howard T. and Mary Margaret (Johnson) Speer. She married Richard “Bo” Bohannan on October 16, 2004, in Gatlinburg, TN. He precedes her in death.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service, 115 S. State St, North Vernon, IN. Pastor Mike Shipley will officiate. Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 15, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm and on Thursday, April 16, from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Vernon Cemetery.

Tammy was known for her incredible heart and dedication to her work as a caregiver in the healthcare industry. Throughout her career, she touched countless lives at Muscatatuck State Hospital, Majestic Nursing Home, and ResCare, always bringing compassion and warmth to those in her care.

Outside of work, Tammy loved to stay active in her community. She enjoyed coaching girls' little league, where she instilled confidence and teamwork in the young girls she mentored. She also found joy in her downtime, whether it was fishing, playing bingo, or getting together for a lively game of euchre with friends and family. Tammy never missed a chance to cheer on her nephews at their sporting events, capturing the spirit of love and support that defined her. 

She is survived by brothers, Thomas (Jolene) Speer and Rick (Cindy) Speer; sister, Debbie (Auda) Redmond; stepdaughter, Angela Bozikis; stepson, David Bohannan; grandchildren, Addie Bozikis and Michael Bozikis and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; grandparents; sister, Linda Collett; brother-in-law, John Collett; nephew, J.T. Collett and niece, Dawn Marie Collett.

Memorial donations may be made in Tammy's memory to the Jennings County Senior Center, 515 Buckeye St, North Vernon, IN, 47265.
