It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sylvia Kay Glover, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who departed this life on February 1, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on August 25, 1945, in North Vernon, Indiana, Sylvia was a dedicated professional, working in medical records at St. Vincent - Jennings Hospital for many years before her retirement from Visiting Angels, where she contributed to the home health care of many in the community.
Sylvia's life was characterized by her unwavering commitment to her family and her community. She was united in marriage to her devoted husband, Johnny Glover Sr. for 67 years, and together they shared a life rich with love, laughter, and mutual support. Sylvia cherished the moments spent with her son, John Glover Jr., daughter-in-law Mariann Glover, and daughter Catherine Hobson, along with her son-in-law William Hobson. She was the proud grandmother of Tyler (Sabrina) Hobson, Cody (Stephanie) Glover, Niki Shannon and Nichole Mussio Hobson, as well as a loving great-grandmother to Skylar Hobson, Colton Hobson, Rielly Hobson, and Ava Hobson. In addition to her immediate family, she is survived by her sisters, Carolyn Bruce-Spicer and Vivian Filosa, and their respective husbands, Gene Spicer and Nick Filosa.
Sylvia was an active member of the Rolling Hills Shrine Club, where she and her husband participated wholeheartedly in their community. Her passion for life was evident in her commitment to those around her, and she will be remembered for her generous spirit and her ability to bring joy to others.
Sylvia will be deeply missed but will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who take comfort in the memory of her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, Ottis and Ruth Davis Corya; brother, Leroy Corya; grandson, Jason Hobson.
