Sue Ann Janes, 85, of North Vernon, passed away at 5:52 a.m. on Friday, February 23, 2024, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus.

No services are planned at this time. Cremation was chosen. Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service are entrusted with the arrangements.

Born on June 30, 1938, in Columbus, Sue was the loving daughter of Lynn and Buenell (Chrisman) Voelz. She was united in marriage to Bill Janes in 1987. He preceded her in death in 2014.

Sue was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time surrounded by her family and friends.

Left to cherish Sue's memory are sons, Joe (Merri) Ortlieb of North Vernon, and Scott Ortlieb of Seymour; grandchildren, Gunnar, Zoe, and Zane Ortlieb.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lynn and Buenell Voelz; husband, Bill Janes; brothers, Bob and Don Voelz; granddaughter, Kyla Ortlieb.
