Steven R. Martin, 58, of North Vernon, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at 6:05 p.m. on Thursday August 15, 2019, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana facility.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Rev. Mark Sorrels will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the time of service.

Born August 23, 1960, in Seymour, Steven was the son of William Martin and Janet (Allman) Wolfe. He married Cindy Welton on February 24, 1988. She survives.

Steven had served in the Air Forces early on. Then was a self employed over the road truck driver for many years, becoming a Truck Driver Instructor for 10 years. He attended the Hayden Baptist Church. Steven enjoyed fishing, mowing grass, NASCAR, Indianapolis Colts, Old T.V. shows, Playing Pool, car shows, and music.

In addition to his wife Cindy Martin of North Vernon, survivors include sons, Brandon Ray Martin of Sierra Vista, AZ, Andrew Joseph Martin of Aurora, CO, Derrick (Amber) Martin of Bloomington; daughter, Jami (Andy) Hatfield of Columbus; sisters, Beverly Sublett and Sheri Schroeder both of North Vernon, Cindy Martin of MI; brothers, Tim Martin of Taylorsville, Ky, Larry Martin of Jacksonville, FL, Jim Martin of Alexandria, IN; grandchildren, Gerry Martin, Owen Hatfield, Isabella Martin, Waylon Hatfield, and Maximus Martin.

Steven was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Diane; brothers, Jerry and Jeffrey Dean Martin.
