Mr. Steven W. Filson

Steven Wayne Filson, 55 of North Vernon passed away Monday, July 5, 2010 at his residence.

Born on November 2, 1954 in Columbus, Indiana, Steven was the son of the late Richard Filson & Ramona (Dudley) McDowell.

Mr. Filson served in the United States Navy. He enjoyed visiting with his family and watching NASCAR.

He is survived by his mother Ramona McDowell of North Vernon, two daughters; Niki Smith of Butlerville, Jesseka Gibson of Columbus; a son, Steve M. Filson of North Vernon; two sisters, Pam Baxter of Columbus, Margaret Hoppus of North Vernon; a brother, Charles Filson of Columbus; and two grandchildren, Jorden and Isaac Smith

Steven was preceded in death by his Father.

Funeral Information

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 13th, 2010 at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Home in North Vernon. Visitation will on Tuesday from 11 am until the time of service.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Riley Children Hospital.
