Stephen "Paparock" Rock, 60, of North Vernon, passed away at his home on Monday, July 17, 2017 at 3:16 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, July 24, 2017 at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service.  Rev. Tracy McIntyre will officiate.  Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service on Monday.

Born on September 13, 1956 in Chicago, IL, Stephen was the son of the late Vern and Wanda Walden Rock.  He married Sheryl Schryer on September 1, 2014.  She survives.

Stephen had worked in the construction business.  He attended Crossroad Community Church.  Stephen enjoyed woodworking and spending time with people.

In addition to his wife, Sheryl, he is survived by three daughters, Rena Duchi of North Vernon, Nina Thibodaux and Jennifer Cormier of Louisiana; two sons, Stephen Rock, Jr. of Louisiana and Tim Rock of Indianapolis; one sister, Rena Vail of Illinois; one brother, Tim Rock of New Mexico; and several grandchildren.

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, Vern and Wanda Rock.
