Stephen L. Everroad, 76, of North Vernon, passed away at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at his home.

There will be no services at this time. Cremation was chosen. Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service are entrusted with the arrangements.

Born on January 17, 1947, Stephen was the loving son of Lewis M. and Kathryn (Powers) Everroad. He was united in marriage to Emma Sue Moore on May 3, 1980. She survives.

Stephen had retired from Muscatatuck State Development Center after 36 years of employment. He never met a stranger and loved to tell stories. Stephen enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.

In addition to his wife, Sue Everroad of North Vernon, he is survived by sons, Scott A. Everroad of Aiken, SC., and Brad (Lisa) Foster of North Vernon; daughter, Lindsey (Jimmy) Brumback of Millhousen; brother, Gary Everroad of Geneva, IN; grandchildren, Derik Foster, T.J. and Tevin Brumback, Mariah (Denver) Rucker, Shyla (Aaron) Amis, Emma and Trent Brumback; 5 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Kathryn Everroad.
