Stacia Nicole Schmidt, 25, of Indianapolis formerly of North Vernon, passed away at 7:10 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at her home.

A funeral service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, April 18, 2022, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service. Rev. Frank McGee will officiate. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the start of the service.

Born on June 20, 1996, in Seymour, Stacia was the loving daughter of Marshall and Shawnna Ritchie.

Stacia was a graduate of Jennings County High School and Ball State University. She was currently working on her master's degree in Art. She loved reading but was most passionate about Art. Stacia enjoyed spending time with her family.

She will be forever missed by her parents, Marshall and Shawnna Ritchie of North Vernon; brother, Tristan Ritchie of North Vernon; grandparents, Jay and Mary Elliott of North Vernon, Steve and Kathy Schmidt of Tell City, Alan and Joyce Ritchie of North Vernon; a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins; her 2nd family, the Mix and Match Group of Family and Friends.

Memorials can be made through the funeral home to the National Teen Suicide Prevention or the Jennings County High School Arts Program.
