Sherri A. Lucas, 70, of North Vernon, passed away at 8:08 a.m. on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana in Columbus.

There will be a visitation held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service. Cremation was chosen.

Born on June 8, 1953, in Seymour, Sherri was the loving daughter of Albert and Virginia Yux. She was united in marriage to Roger Lucas on August 15, 1981. He survives.

Sherri graduated from Jennings County High School in 1971. She began working for C.E.W for several years. She then managed Crystal Flash in North Vernon and Jack's Place in Columbus. Sherri was a member of the Moose Lodge. She enjoyed playing video games and Euchre. Most of all, Sherri cherished spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her husband, Roger Lucas of North Vernon, survivors include sons, Jason Johnston of North Vernon, and Shawn (Kathy) Johnston of Dothan, AL; daughter, Amanda (Andrew) Phillips of Vallonia; stepson, Gordon (Mickie) Lucas of Brownsburg; brother, Dave (Sheila) Yux of North Vernon; sisters, Annie (Jack) Mock of North Vernon, Mary (Rick) Hardwick of North Vernon, and Susie (Gerald) Claire of North Vernon; fourteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Virginia Yux; stepson, Greg Lucas.
