Sheron Lois
Waldon
April 15, 1943 – May 23, 2026
Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service
4:00 - 8:00 pm (Eastern time)
Sheron Lois Waldon, age 83, of North Vernon, Indiana, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026. Sheron was born on April 15th, 1943, in Coushatta, Louisiana to Lois and Elma Madden Lowery.
Sheron grew up as one of five siblings in Hall Summit, Louisiana. She was married to Norman Waldon on May 23, 1964. Sheron lived a long and fulfilling life doing what she loved most: quilting, sewing, attending her weekly TOPS meetings, reading endless romance novels, serving the church where she ran the church bus route for over twenty years, and caring for others. For over 30 years, Sheron dedicated herself to caring for the elderly as a competent and compassionate nurse all while also peddling Stanley Home Products to anyone and everyone, whether out of her trunk, in the back of the church, or to her oldest son while in Basic Military Training. As evident by her Stanley Home Products endeavors, Sheron never met a stranger and just loved taking care of people. She was also an avid Louisiana State University sports fan.
Sheron was preceded in death by her parents Lois Lowery and Elma Lowery and her siblings Douglas Lowery, James Lowery, and Linda Storey.
Sheron is survived by her husband, Norman along with her three sons, Maurice (Pamela), Douglas (Tracy), and Timothy Waldon; sister, Margaret Al-Jamal, as well as her sister-in-law Aunt Bonnie Anthony. She is a loving grandmother to Micaela (Cody) Anderson, Hope (Brent) Pigg, Lauren, Breanna, and Makenzie Waldon, and Jared Emmons; as well as a great-grandma to Skylar, Kristi, Sophia, Amaya, and Amy.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the First Apostolic Church of North Vernon. Rev. Joel Willis will officiate. Burial will be in Hayden Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service and on Saturday from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at First Apostolic Church.
Sheron will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the First Apostolic Church of North Vernon.
