Sharon Powers

December 16, 1954 - August 27, 2015

Sharon Powers, 60, of North Vernon, passed away on August 27, 2015, at Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison.

Born December 16, 1954, in Louisville, KY, Sharon was the daughter of the late Oliver and Rose (Darnell) Heitkamper. She graduated from Doss High School in Louisville.

Sharon had worked at Dairy Queen for 13 years. She enjoyed bingo, Facebook and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Douglas and Michael Powers, both of North Vernon; two daughters, Stephanie Powers of North Vernon and Rebecca Halling of Noblesville; sister, Margaret Pope of Russiaville; sister-in-law, Debbie Heitkamper of North Vernon; and 16 grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Louise Shadburn, Donna Marie Rice and Lillian Heitkamper; and two brothers, Oliver and Rodney Earl Heitkamper.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 31, 2015, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Deacon Larry French will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery.
