Sarah A. Castetter

Sarah Annabelle Castetter, 96, of North Vernon passed away Friday, August 6, 2010 at the Jennings Health Care in North Vernon at 8:10 a.m.

Born July 12, 1914, in North Vernon, she was the daughter of Harry and Caroline Baker Miles. She married Floyd Castetter. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Castetter had been employed by Regal Rugs in North Vernon. She attended the First Methodist Church and the Senior Citizens Club. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and playing cards.

She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Proctor, Sally (Chad) Owens, both of North Vernon, Carol Jean (James) Mercer of FL.; sons, Bill (Joann) Castetter of North Vernon, David (Monica) Castetter of TX.,14 grandchildren; and 30 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren; and a brother, Virgil Miles of North Vernon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers, Fred Miles, John Miles, and five sisters, Pearl Woodruff, Margaret Meyer, Dorothy Cummings, Mary Miles and Frances Castetter.

Funeral Information

Funeral will be held on Monday 11:00 a.m. at Sawyer~Pickett Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Sweet officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00- 11:00 a.m. before the service. Burial will be at the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon, IN.
