Sandra Y Cook

Sandra Y. Cook, 56, of New Albany, In., passed away at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 11:30 p.m.

Born May 7, 1953 in Owensboro, KY., she was the daughter of late Utah Hillard and Ola Mae Foreman Amburgey. She married Clem Cook in November of 1975, he survives.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed listening to music and spending time with the grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, three daughters, Shatanya Bennett, Tameeka Cook, and Barbara Mucker of New Albany, a son, Mark Cook of New Albany, several step sons, two brothers, George Amburgey of North Vernon and Hilly David Amburgey of Austin, Texas, 11 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Amanda Diana Amburgey, Joyce Driver and a daughter, Dena Amburgey.

Arrangements are in care of Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service.

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be Saturday November 21, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Sawyer~Pickett Funeral Home, in North Vernon, In. Visitation will be on Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Reverend Butch Woodell will be officiating. Burial will be at the Vernon Cemetery.
