Samuel L. Derringer, 61, North Vernon, passed away at 10:32 p.m. on Sunday, May 30, 2021, at the Columbus Regional Hospital.

There will be a graveside service held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 10, 2021, at Vernon Cemetery. Rev. Dan Corbin officiated. Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service are entrusted with the arrangements.

Born on February 21, 1960, in Chicago, IL, Samuel was the loving son of Louis and Barbara (Mays) Derringer.

Samuel had previously worked at Lowes Distribution Center. He enjoyed fishing, watching football and NASCAR. He was avid Chicago Bears fan. Samuel cherished spending time with his family and friends.

Samuel is survived by his mother, Barbara Derringer of North Vernon; sons, Nathaniel (Erika Coriaty) Derringer of North Vernon, and Justin Derringer of Virginia; step daughter, Cathy Vincent of Virginia; sister, Tammy Yocum of Vevay; brother, Randy Derringer; grandchildren, Charles, Xander, and Joleah.

He is preceded in death by his father, Louis Derringer.
